− どのような時に白を用い、また、どのような時に色を用いるのですか。

作中に引かれる線には、雑音やホワイト・ノイズの音波を表現するために、常に白を使っています。
美しく心地良い構成を作るために、線や油絵の具を重ねます。
色を使う時には、多くの場合、穏やかでくすんだ色を表現するために、ホワイトとグレーを混ぜ合わせます。

− When do you draw with white? And when do you use colors?

The lines in my artwork are always white to represent static or white noise sound waves.
I layer my work with the lines and oil paint to a composition that is aesthetically pleasing.
When I use color, I often combine white and grey with it to remain tranquil and neutral.

− インスピレーションをもらえるアイコンや、アーティスト、クリエイターはいますか。

制作に行き詰まった時は、Helen FrankenthalerやCy Twomblyの作品を観て、彼らのエナジーや動きを感じます。
最近は、中村竜治やMary Corseなどの立体的な作品を作るミニマルなアーティストからもインスピレーションをもらえます。

− Do you have any icon, artist or creator who inspires you?

Whenever I feel stuck in my work, I look to Helen Frankenthaler and Cy Twombly to feel their energy and movement in their work.
Lately, I have been inspired by work of the dimensional minimal artists Ryuji Nakamura and Mary Corse. 

− どのように1日を過ごすのが好きですか？お気に入りの場所や空間はありますか。

正直に言うと、私のお気に入りの場所は家です。
私は、夫とともに水上生活をしています。
水の上で生活をすることで、素晴らしい自然の一部になり、感謝の気持ちを持つようになりました。
2階にあるスタジオで1杯の紅茶を飲みながら時間を過ごすのが好きです。
絵を描いている時には、度々外に目線をやり、静かな水の表面や鷲が飛び立つ様、白鳥が浮かんでいる光景を眺めます。
2年ほどここに住んでいますが、季節が流れていく様子を見るのは、とても良いものです。

− How do you like to pass a day? Where is your favorite place or space to spend your time?

To be honest, my favorite place to be is my home.
I live with my husband on the water in a floating home.
Living on the water is something I am so grateful for because being one with nature is incredible.
I love to make a cup of tea and spend time in my studio which is on the second level.
When I am painting, I often look out the window and see a seal surface on the water, an eagle fly by and swans floating.
We have lived here over two years and I have loved watching each passing season.

自身のアイデンティティーをコンセプトとして、油絵の具を使った絵画制作を続ける。
エミリー・カー美術大学でファイン・アートを、ブリティッシュ・コロンビア大学で美術教育と聴覚障害教育を学ぶ。
作品は、著名なキュレータ等を通して世界各国に紹介されている。
